Undergraduate Programs

The Division of International, Comparative and Area Studies supports undergraduate interdisciplinary majors, minors and honors programs. Over 250 students are currently enrolled in the division’s undergraduate programs. The undergraduate programs explore global, regional, and domestic factors involved in contemporary politics, culture and history. Most students study overseas and acquire fluency in a second language as a part of their degree program.

Undergraduate minors are available in all ICA area centers and the International Relations program. Undergraduate majors are available in East Asian Studies and International Relations, with the option to pursue honors for declared majors. Interdisciplinary honors certificates are available in Latin American Studies for students from all majors.

Many students pursue careers in government, non-governmental organizations, and business or go on to graduate school in law, business, or academic PhD programs.

The Division supports undergraduate research through the summer research program in the International Relations program and summer honors college. Students work closely with faculty in affiliated departments in research projects.
