SCBS seeks to encourage interaction between the university and the community and to promote the public understanding of Buddhism and other Asian religions. It works with other groups, both on campus and off, to support Buddhist activities at Stanford and sponsor academic programs in the community.

Asian Religions & Cultures (ARC). An initiative, in cooperation with other groups on campus and in the community, offering public programs and events in Asian humanities.

Buddhist Studies Community Resources. A program providing assistance to groups in the community that wish to draw on Stanford's resources in Buddhist studies to mount lectures, seminars, conferences, and other events.

Buddhist Community at Stanford (BCAS). A non-sectarian student group, co-sponsored with the Dean of the Chapel, that provides Buddhist programs on campus.

Buddhism in the Modern World (BMW). A program, in cooperation with BCAS and the Office of Religious Life, that sponsors Buddhist lectures and other public events on campus.
