Research Projects
Seed Fund Grants
The Center wishes to establish new types of collaborations, stimulate new links, create new conversations, and deepen existing collaborations. Since April 2005, through its annual call for proposals, it has provided seed money in support of collaborative projects between Stanford researchers and their counterparts in universities and research laboratories in France. Financial support can be awarded up to $15,000 annually. Priority is given to projects with the potential to develop new collaborations, those involving younger researchers, and those leading to collaborative work on interdisciplinary issues.
Projects may include:
. Collaborative research
. Visits/Exchanges
. Internships
. "Seed money"
. Mini-conferences
. Course development
Projects may not involve:
. Costs of book translation
. Subsidies for book publication
. Post-doctoral stipends or salaries
. Tuition
The France-Stanford Center will not fund the following:
. Supplies and materials
. Registration fees
Proposals for collaborative projects are evaluated and selected by the France-Stanford Center Executive Committee.
